DAY 2 HISTORICAL KIGALI

• Kigali city tour
• Visit to Kigali Genocide Memorial
The Kigali Genocide Memorial exists as a permanent memorial to those who feel victim to the genocide in 1994
You will start the city tour past the post office and Prisoner’s house to the Richard Kandt’s museum where the historic city tour will begin.
From Kandts House you’ll then proceed to Former Radio RTLM (Hate radio) and then proceed towards Kigali University Central Hospital (CHUK).
HISTORY OF GENOCIDE IN KIGALI
The first Genocide site to visit will be Camp Kigali. Camp Kigali is the venue of the massacre of 10 Belgian UN Blue Berets which happened on the first day of the genocide. Under the command of Canadian General Romeo Dallaire. Drive past the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology which was once part of the military Camp and the Hotel Mille Collines. You will then be driven to Mille Collines Hotel (also known as Hotel Rwanda) for lunch.
You will then have movie time at the cinema centre
