This 5 Days Rwanda Primate Tracking Safari brings you to one of the biggest remaining undeveloped natural forest reserves in Africa, a vast expanse of virgin forest in the southwest of Nyungwe Forest National Park. In addition to being home to twelve other species of habituated primates, including a 400-strong troop of habituated Rwenzori Black & White Colobus, it is also home to seventy-five other species of mammals and over 300 species of birds, sixteen of which are endemic.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival – Kigali City Tour

One of our tour guides will meet you at the Rwandan airport, Kigali International, and take you to the hotel. You will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and go on a city tour to learn about the history and culture of this land of a thousand hills, depending on when you arrive.

Day 2: Visiting Nyungwe National Park

Early morning enjoy your breakfast and leave the hotel to western province, on your way visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in Southern Province. After lunch you head to Nyungwe National Park.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking

There are thirteen different types of primates living in the forest. You first visit the park office before beginning your chimpanzee trekking experience. We visit Uwinka to stroll around the canopy walkway after lunch. Dinner and overnight stay at Gisakura Guest House.

Day 4: Colobus Monkey Tracking and Tea Plantation Visit

After breakfast, you go for colobus monkey tracking and visit the tea plantation and later head to Kibuye along the Kivu Lake; you will have a fantastic view of the country of a thousand hills. Overnight and dinner in Bethany Hotel.

Day 5: Kibuye – Kigali

After Breakfast, go for a boat ride and visit different islands in the Kivu Lake. After we visit the environmental museum in Kibuye before heading to Kigali for your departure flight.
